This is the first time a Web Cam has been deployed at the North Pole. The images from the camera will track the North Pole snow cover, weather conditions and the status of PMEL's North Pole instrumentation, which includes meteorological and ice sensors (seen in the camera images). The North Pole Web Cam team includes Bill Parker, Sigrid Salo, Tracey Nakamura, Nancy Soreide and Jim Overland.
The web cam has been programmed to send only 4 images per day from the North Pole.
